Why did we have to watch a taped match for the Cena/Jbl fight?

It was taped Saturday night. The version we saw was edited, therefore it was actually worse than what we saw. I pose this question, why did it have to be taped would the fans run outside and interfere? At least then it may have been interesting or am I alone in thinking that? save_us_hung t.
