Webcam question please help!?

ok my cousin is in kuwait and I ordered my grandmother a new computer so she can see him with a webcam. The webcam that came with it for free is a 1.3 mega pixel one-i know on a camera that sucks so is that good on a web cam? I also have a graphics card on the computer that enhances the pictures on the webcam I have been told. should i return it and get another one? which is best? its HP brand by the way.
