No sound coming from computer speakers.?

So I have an 04 Dell, and sometime during 06 the computer stopped working. Late last year I took the computer out again, and got it working enough to run a system restore on it. Everything works fine, except for the sound. I have a Sound Blaster Live! 24 bit drive. Any ideas? Already checked, nothing is muted and the speakers work. Also tried other speakers, and still no sound.
